Use Light Tofu and Low-Sodium Soy Sauce

Using light tofu and low-sodium soy sauce to be healthier

Chicken, shrimp, and vegetarian stir-fry dishes are easy to make, low calorie, and healthy for you. But you can further reduce the fat and cholesterol in them by choosing light tofu and low-sodium versions of soy sauce.

For a simple sauce for a vegetarian stir-fry, mix together ½ cup of water, ¼ cup of sherry, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1 teaspoon sugar, and 1 tablespoon fresh chopped ginger.

You can also try using a hot wok with a little water instead of oil to get your favorite vegetables steaming a bit before tossing in the tofu and stirring in the sauce. You could also add a dash of your favorite seasonings.
