Tai Chi Exercise for Anti-Aging

Preventing Aging with Tai Chi Exercise

This is an ancient form of exercise for both the body and the mind. It is particularly suited to older people because there is little threat of muscular or bone injuries. Younger people can also get great benefits from regular tai chi sessions. These include better sleep patterns, a reduction of stress and toning of the muscles. Those who suffer from arthritis, back pain, muscle diseases and certain diseases of the nervous system may also experience an improvement during tai chi exercises. As for the mental benefits, a better memory, sharp mind, spiritual calmness and control of emotions are the prizes to take home after tai chi sessions.

Tai chi is practiced by the Taoists, who were mentioned earlier. The Taoists are great experts in all longevity matters and we can learn many tricks from them to help us live a long and healthy life.

There are a few basic tai chi postures just for starters. There are many more exercises and the easiest way to learn is by enrolling in a suitable class with a trained teacher. Otherwise you can learn from a book.

Start practicing in front of a full-length mirror. Keep your body straight, but avoid tension. Think of your legs as the roots of a tree, your body as the trunk and your arms as the branches.
