The Object Uses Test to Encourage Creativity

How the uses of object could encourage creativity

In this mental exercise you just need to write down as many unusual uses of everyday items as possible. For example, write down five unusual uses of a shirt. It can be used as a head cover in the sun, as a bandage, to help start a fire, as a duster, to mop up water from the floor …

Other items could include a pen, chair, a mug or a shoe. Do this exercise alone or in a group three times a week for 5-10 minutes at a time. The sillier, the better, but don’t go overboard.

This helps enrich the thinking processes and encourages creativity.
