Can Cosmeceuticals Really Help to Remove Wrinkles

Understand what cosmeceuticals can and cannot do in the battle to get rid of deep wrinkles

As the members of the baby boomer generation enter their fifties and sixties, there will be an increasing number who will turn to pricey “cosmeceuticals”, which are cosmetics specially designed to eliminate of to prevent wrinkles as well as other age-related skin blemishes. They are doing that in an effort to maintain their youth. So do these products really work as they claimed to be? The answer is both a Yes and No. All of these products contain essentially the same ingredients (copper peptides, antioxidants, hydroxy acids, moisturizers) but in varying amounts and combined with a wide variety of other ingredients too.

Many of these products have been shown to eliminate fine lines on the face, but the actual effect is only temporary and usually very subtle. So the bottom line is: Nothing that comes in a jar, no matter how much it will cost, are not going to get rid of those deep wrinkles. To get rid of that, you will need to consult a plastic surgeon.
